Chris and I have talked about the things we'd like to teach Jonathan as he grows up. How to do laundry, how to clean a toilet, etc. High on the list is teaching him how to cook. I've shown him a couple things, how to measure flour and spices, how to crack an egg without exploding it, (I didn't know you could make an egg explode quite so well as my son has done. Thankfully we've *mostly* moved past that.) I'm learning patience in the process of this teaching, mainly because it's all I can do not to take over and do things "the right way" and just let him stir a bit with the wooden spoon when I'm done.

Jonathan and I had a great time at the Children's Museum recently. We were both having a rather bad day, but we went anyway to burn off some extra energy, and it turned out to be a great turnaround to the day. I snagged a few pictures while Jonathan briefly stood still, then it was off to the next thing. :)

The weekend before school started, we went to two baseball games to cheer for our local minor league team, the Saltdogs, while they played against the Sioux Falls Canaries.

My guys are runners. I am not. I am much more happy riding my bike, and would rather save running for those "Only if I absolutely must..." times. I do love that they like to run together. This picture is from a race they did back on May 3rd. I got to hang out and take pictures of them and friends, while they got to spend time together doing something they love to do. A good day.

This Easter we drove to Aberdeen, SD, so we could see my extended family. We had lots of fun hanging out, going swimming in the hotel pool, and hunting for easter eggs. My favorite time though, was hanging out with my Grandma Eva. Towards the end of the visit, we got to take some pictures of her with most of her great-grandchildren. (All but the youngest, Hazel, were there. I can't wait till I get to cuddle Hazel too!)

I've gotten a bit behind on updating throughout this school year, so I thought I'd post some of my favorite shots, despite them being a bit outdated now. Hope you enjoy!

Jonathan begins kindergarten on Tuesday. It seems crazy, that it's come this soon, that this is the last weekend that won't be sandwiched between school weeks. He's ready, I think, since he can read and write, knows some geography, math, and is learning to spell. He's ready to soak in what he can, and quick.

Jonathan LOVES to play board games. Up to this point, we've been playing traditional toddler games, Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, things like that. This week, after yet another request to play the endless Chutes and Ladders, I decided to try something different.
Read morePicking up.
As I type this, Jonathan is picking up his blocks for bedtime, jumping from place to place rather than walking. He looks as though he's practicing for the long jump each time. He falls down every other jump or so, and just says, "Whoa..." and gets back up and jumps again. He throws his arms back in classic superhero fashion before dashing between rooms to look for more blocks and pauses for a drink of water when he needs it. The actual pick up time is probably tripled by all of this, but I don't really mind. All I can think is that he's not a toddler anymore. At 3 1/2, he's really a little boy.

This. Agnes over at KnockKnocking actually inspired me to make my own wreath. :)
See? :)
This is beautiful. Love.
With all the clocks on all of the electronics around our home, any clock we choose to hang on the wall has to be art as well. While I'm waiting to invest in any major decorations till we have a more permanent home, I definitely love this.
I've been mildly obsessed with square cake stands lately, as I don't have a cake stand I can fit a 8x8/9x9 cake on. However, this happens to be one of my favorites, and it doesn't even work for that! Oh well. Love anyway. :)
Of course, above all things, this I love the most.
My Family. Happy Father's Day, my sweet Chris!
